15 things to know about dating french boys

Well, you’ve got yourself a bunch of fun-filled afternoons.

Then add in the fact that you took away her son and that really makes for fun holidays. Well, American men do that without us having to ask and it’s part of our culture.

From the language to the distance to the culture shock, marrying a French guy may come with some hurdles. Marrying a French guy has its fair share of difficulties just like any relationship, and while it’s certainly different from marrying someone from your own culture, it’s a lot of fun as well.

It is so funny to see how some social behaviors are exactly the same between France and the US, and others are completely different. Well, this was a big shock to me when I arrived in the US. I understood of course a man and a woman could be interested in each other in a romantic way, let me reassure you.

It helps to appear really confident while doing so. Where appropriate, use this excuse when you’re taking daily afternoon siestas, cutting in line or doing other things that may or may not be French.

When you marry a French guy, take opportunities to teach your man about your culture whenever you can, even if sometimes it’s a fib. It’s only natural to show your guy and the rest of the world that you’re immersing yourself in his culture, so I say embrace away (even if you take it a bit far sometimes)!

And who doesn’t love a little jaunt overseas every now and again?

Maybe this is why French guys have the reputations of being so romantic, and… We trained them well (with some exceptions of course…Depending on where you’re living, you can turn a visit to see the family into an action packed vacation. And then make up excuses to go visit whenever your job has you down or you’re feeling stressed.I guess since there is no set protocol, French women are pretty obvious, and often more direct than other women. It’s unlikely they’ll refuse to take it further, but not unheard of.You will know when a French girl is flirting with you: she’ll smile to excess, move her hair a lot, smile at you, blush, laugh hard and loud at your jokes, find occasions to touch your shoulder (or even your knee… and it’s not unlikely that she’ll make the first move. Again, the game is often more important than the catch, even to men. The woman has all the power when it comes to dating. It’s then up to the guy if the company of “la belle” is enough for him, or if the game has lasted long enough – in which case no-one is forcing him to continue to invite her.
